After the introduction of four new biofuel boiler houses in the Dnipropetrovsk region in early November, the total amount of heat generation with renewable fuel – pellets – grew by 52%. This was reported by the agricultural holding’s press service.
Within part of the program to modernize the boiler houses in rural schools in the Dnipropetrovsk region by transferring them to heat generation through renewable biofuel pellets, KSG Agro agri-holding put into operation two boiler houses in the beginning of November 2017. New boiler houses are launched in schools in the village of Zorya in the Tomakovsky district and in the village of Nastasovka with a total capacity of 1.2 megawatts
After commissioning two modernized boiler houses, the total amount of biofuel heat generation at KSG Agro agri-holding increased by 52% from 4.25 to 6.45 MW in comparison with the previous heating season. Modernization of the boiler houses was made at the expense of the holding’s investments in the amount of about UAH 3 million, without attracting budgetary resources.
“Transferring rural school boiler houses to biofuels is not only another step towards the independence of the region and the country with respect to Russian energy carriers, but also a real saving of budget funds for heating – up to 40% compared to natural gas and coal,” says KSG Agro’s Chairman of the Board of Directors Sergey Kasyanov. According to him, the holding plans to further transfer rural schools in the Dnepropetrovsk region to fuel pellets.
As previously reported, KSG Agro launched two modernized boiler houses on biofuel – fuel pellets – in schools in the villages of Trituznoye and Nadezhdovka in the Solonyansky district of the Dnipropetrovsk region in October. The volume of KSG Agro’s investment in two boiler houses in the Solonyansky district, with a total capacity of 1 mW, amounted to UAH 1.5 million. In addition to boiler houses in schools in the villages of Trituznoye and Nadezhdovka in the Solonyansky district of the Dnepropetrovsk region, in early October a boiler room for a canteen in Novopokrovka school was put into operation.
The fuel for all modernized boiler houses will be produced at a new workshop in Novopokrovka. The planned capacity of the shop is 2400 tons of fuel pellets per year. The modern granulation line of OGM 1500 will be used as the equipment.
